More than 5,000 years ago, ancient egyptians found that wood veneers fixed together in multiple layers with grains in different directions would turnout in cheap and resistant planks; also known as plywood.
Contra is a building system inspired in plywood (comes from the spanish translation: contrachapado). Each element is made out of narrow strips of this material sealed with Velcro on both sides. These elements form layers, that when ordered in different directions strengthen the capacity of the sections to bear weight. The Velcro also makes it easy to bind or unbind multiple shapes, sizes and objects.
